round four and new 2009s

i am taking a beating in this round but i think i'll come out on top..... the wind here in livingston has been outrageous. i've been battling that achy loneliness alot so far this week.
but the PA i'm working with here is great so far, my housing is free, and i'm going home on friday for the weekend. thank god!! literally.
in livingston i am staying with a friend of my parents' dad. "mac" was a physician in the livingston area for more than 50 years. pretty neat old guy with some great stories complete with house calls and skiing war stories. we were watching TV last night and a woman came on a commercial to which he remarked "hey that's one of my babies." apparently mac delivered her. he has quite a history. he is a sweet man, always ensuring that i am well fed and even checking to make sure i am awake in the morning. he is a bit lonely but we are going to get along just fine. :D his (annoying little yappy) dog hates me.... he already pooped in my room. what a welcome.






on another note: matt and i had a great new years... i worked in lovell, trying to make up my time, the week after christmas. the weekend on call was slow and boring but i escaped new years eve day just in time to have a grand adventure. we went to red lodge and painted the town with cheese and junice. we were surprised with a free carbon co. dinner, galavanted around town, toasted champagne with new friends, snowshoed in the dark, played canasta, and danced our tooshies off to the momma mia soundtrack. ha ha.... what a kick. then matt and i enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the carroll's cabin filled with guitar jams, naps, hot baths, snowshoeing excursions, and movies. we are so lucky. great friends and incredible blessings. it is overwhelming.
